London under snow was beautiful, but I can’t say I’m sorry the thaw has come. It was cold. Now the mercury is rising, the daylight hours are longer, and with the snow gone growth is apparent everywhere you look.
I’ll be leading a number of public tours over the next few weeks, starting with one around the Elephant and Castle on Sunday.
I can’t promise the blue skies of my header, but I can promise an insight into this historic and vibrant neighbourhood.
You’ll see how the paint has faded on our noble elephant, but then it was only painted after being removed from elsewhere. Join me on Sunday and I’ll tell you more.
The walk starts at 10.45 outside the Elephant and Castle tube station on London Road. That’s the LSBU exit. It costs £10pp and there is no need to book in advance.
I’ll be carrying a stack of London Walks leaflets.
