Kennington Walk, Princes and Paupers, Saturday 29th March

What a wonderful way to spend a spring morning. Kennington Park will feature strongly on this walk, and although its history has not always been happy, it remains a draw for people from all around. Some sit and read, others walk their dogs, others play sport, or relax over a coffee or an ice cream in the café. Its a pretty perfect spot. No wonder I enjoy this walk.
You’ll hear about Rural Economy, Chartism, philanthropic young men who founded what is today the Childen’s Society, see an art gallery housed in a Victorian public lavatory, the library where Charlie Chaplin borrowed books, and the location of a royal palace. And that’s just for starters.

Princes and Paupers, A Guided Walk Around Kennington

Next Saturday 6th April let’s hope for blue skies and sunshine for this walk around lovely Kennington.

We’ll meet outside Kennington Tube for 10.45am.
The cost is £9, £7 for over 65s and full-time students, and the walk lasts around two and a half hours.
