Diamond Dogs

“Isobel,

I really enjoyed the Diamond Dogs virtual walk tonight—thank you for hosting it!

All the best,”

“Fascinating details about places I know and those I don’t in London. Has given me lots to look for and notice when I’m out and about, even on familiar routes.”

“Informative and fun. Something different to look out for when strolling around LONDON”

Cool Cats

“I didn’t expect such a variety of fascinating stories of our beloved mouse officers across the big city London.  Once you open your eyes and stroll through the streets of London, apparently a famous cat waits around almost every corner and in every part. Isobel was very generous with her knowledge and the various anecdotes about the cats and their owners, spicing up her stories with a bit of a smile or even a laugh every now and then.  She made me want to see them for myself, so next time I’ll be in London (whenever we will be able to travel again), I’ll visit one or two of those spots and remember the stories heard in that Zoom Meeting. Thank you, Isobel, it’s been a pleasure! “

“Absolutely wonderful cat related tour. Isobel has honed this trip around the Capital into the most perfect hour for anyone who loves cats and London. Inspired by her tour, the following day I cycled to see Ada Salter, her family and her cat ( no name known) and gave it a little head pat. I’ll be heading along to do the same to ‘Hodge’ at Southwark Cathedral as soon as lockdown allows.”

Coventry

“This tour was fascinating- old buildings, a remarkable cathedral, the dancehall library, and 45 types of spud. Who knew? Isobel has a sharp eye and tells a great story. I will happily sign up for other tours.”

Fiona

“Can’t wait to take this virtual tour again. Coventry is a city that rewards with each visit – the weather on our one real life visit was dismal but Isobel’s guiding showed me parts I’d missed, parts to return to and quite a few unforgettable images – the Cathedral and the lively local scene in particular. An excellent virtual explorer day to a city often overlooked but full of treasures.”

Saints, Sinners, Sisters

“Dear Isobel

I very much enjoyed the walk and your ebullient enthusiasm for and knowledge of the area and the women.in a world where feminism has become the new F word it was very refreshing.

I was so pleased to learn about Muriel Matters and spent a happy time researching her.  Made me wish I was still working so I could do an assembly all about her . I was also very interested in Sarah. Couldn’t get very far with Mary Lamb seems insanity did get her off.

Again thank you for an interesting round up of sights and women

St Paul’s Cathedral

“Dear Isobel,

Just a note to say thank you for an excellent walk on Tuesday last. It was both informative and delightful. So much so, it prompted me to purchase a book on Paul!

All the best,

Nadeem”

“The St. Paul’s walk is excellent with an excellent guide Isobel. Very engaging with a lot of interesting facts and easy to understand (as a foreigner). Highly recommend.”

Elena

“The St Paul’s walk is excellent. Isobel was our guide on 12th Oct. Engaging, witty, insightful. She brought the history of St Paul’s and Wren’s Masterpiece to life. Her descriptions appeared to effortlessly weave from one historical narrative to the next and it made the visit a glorious experience! St Paul’s is a remarkable building – powerful as a testament to God (for those who choose to believe) and mere mortals, last resting place for the seemingly great and good and full of ‘sacred’ geometry. The two hours really did ‘fly by’ and left me with the desire to return again, and be further enriched and enchanted by this great landmark. Bravo LW and Isobel.”

“Isobel led us with an informative and entertaining walk through St Paul’s. It is easy to see the obvious grandeur of the building but I appreciate being shown details that I would probably miss without guidance. Isobel explains the significance of the Cathedral as a religious and historical entity as well as its place as a landmark feature of the City of London.”

Walking the Elephant

“We are involved in a major construction project in the Elephant & Castle and to celebrate National Walking Month of May 2018, and to provide a Wellbeing event for the team and to connect us with the neighbourhood and community of which we are temporarily a part, we asked Isobel to invent a bespoke walk for us [over two separate evenings]. This proved very successful and interesting and it was great to have cause to stop and look and listen whilst London went about its business. We would happily use Isobel’s services again.
Thanks Isobel.

Horticultural tour of Camberwell

“What a great thing to do on a sunny Saturday in Southwark – a history/garden tour of SE5 with @londonbyguide, organised by @walworth_c_g_n Visiting growing spaces on other estates was an absolute treat, as was learning more about the borough I’ve lived in for almost 30 years!”

Palace of Westminster

“Hi,

Wanted to thank you again for a superb tour of the Houses of Parliament last Saturday afternoon. As my wife is French, it’s sometimes hard for her to follow guided tours in English, but yours was a pleasure for her to listen to, clear, informative and very rich in detail. We live in Paris, but look forward to joining one of your tours when we come back to London next.

Regards,

Steven & Veronique”
